Good question. Usually I hide from attention, but that's when i'm in my more antisocial moods. Usually in classes I try my best to hide from the teacher, but still make contributions. If it's a party (of adults, not my peers) I am chatty, and am happy to talk. But I do need a drink or two before to take off the edge.
